New Baby Footprint Kit Now In!
Oh, these are just the best! As a mom of 4 kids, I can tell you that making a little plaster cast of baby's tiny hand or foot is just about the most bittersweet gift ever.  I still have handprint of my 20 year old from kindergarden, but it's just not the same as looking at his newborn footprint on the back of his birth certificate.

And while an ink impression is nice, there's just nothing else that can bring back a flood of ...

More Seatbelt Purses Just In!
I just love these bags! I must have one! (This coming from a woman who can never find her wallet, because it's in the purse she used yesterday with the black outfit, and today she's wearing pink...)

OK, I know I have more than enough bags, and it's just shameful to keep adding to the collection, but these are just so cute, I can't help myself. And, judging from our customers' responses and purchases, I'm not the only purse-aholic out there...come on, ladies, ...

Great Travel Accessory
On our trip to Myrtle Beach, I realized just how pitiful I looked dragging my beaten, old rolling suitcase into the lobby of a very nice hotel. I love the gingham duffels we carry, so (naturally!) I had to test out monogramming on one...and (naturally) I happened to use my own monogram...

So here I go into the lobby, with my cute little gingham monogrammed duffel bag ever so casually throw over my shoulder, with my matching monogrammed makeup bag loaded with my ...

Great Time in Myrtle Beach!

We took a quick trip down to Myrtle Beach, S.C. last week for a few days. Bruce played in the 24th Annual National Retired Military Golf Classic, and I made several stops along the way for fabric and supplies. We had a blast!

Between hunting for various embroidery supplies and visiting local fabric mills, I had the chance to race the kids along the beach, hunt for shells, and spend a relaxing afternoon at the waterpark with Michael and Leah.

Demented Dinos...
Our youngest kids, Michael and Leah, decided to create some "new" dinosaurs using parts of their dozens of Dino Magic dinos.

Using bodies from meat and plant eaters, and combining them with just heads (where do kids come up with this stuff??), here's what they created.

A sample of the new "breeds" they hatched include:

    Stegarex
    Scelidotops
    Allodactyl
    Ornithoopteryx
    Postosaurus
    Styrachtoraptor

Seems the next step in the evolutionary process is a body with 6 tails....

Broiled Tilapia Recipe
OK, now I know I'm not much of a fish fan. In fact, the only fish I even remotely like is my daughter's Beta called "Valentimes". And the only reason I tolerate her is that she doesn't eat much, someone else changes her water, and she doesn't make much noise.

But I keep reading that fish is high in protein and low in fat and calories (what--there's no protein in chocolate?? But it's one of the major food groups!!!), and it's supposed to be good for you.

SO...

Pickleball Tournament in Chesapeake, Virginia

We love pickleball! This is just about the best game ever; play if you're 8--play if you're 80!

Here we are, yours truly on the far left,  Joyce (one of my heroes) in the middle, and Alvin, who works for the city of Chesapeake. He's of the great guys who helped organize our 2007 Super Pickleball Challenge tournament at the Western Branch Community Center this past April.

This game has long been dominated by seniors, but the "younger" crowd (those of ...

We Play Pickleball with Relish!
It's part indoor tennis, part badminton...it's a craze that's just beginning to draw out the younger crowd, having appealed to feisty seniors for several years...and it's called...

Pickleball! (I know, stupid name, but the game's great!)

A growing group of seniors, and now their younger counterparts, have become enamoured with this game. It can be played indoors (my personal favorite) or outdoors (the action's considerably slower). And it's easy to learn, fun to play, and appeals to everyone from grade school kids to folks in their 70's.
